I'm surprised that I liked Melancholia for more than just aesthetic reasons. I am usually frustrated/angry midway through Von Trier films, though I'm always dazzled by the imagery. But Melancholia was solid, and lovely.

Also excellent: The New Year's Eve episode of Louie.
